About this tool

DkIT Timetable Monitor is a privately operated tool for checking the published DkIT class timetable and keeping its owner's Google Calendar timetable events up to date. It is not offered as a service to the public.

Information the tool processes

Timetable information: class names, weeks, days, times, rooms, and lecturer names returned by the DkIT timetable service. The tool stores timetable state, history snapshots, and a change log on its own server.
Google Calendar data: the tool requests the calendar.events permission so it can create, find, update, and remove the timetable events it created. It identifies its events with a private marker and does not intentionally change other calendar events.
OAuth credentials: Google's refresh token is stored in the tool's private data directory on its server so it can continue syncing without asking the owner to sign in each time.
Optional ntfy notifications: if the owner configures ntfy, the tool sends timetable-change summaries to that ntfy server and topic. A summary may include the class day, time, module, room, and lecturer. ntfy is not contacted when this feature is not configured.

How information is used and shared

Timetable information is used to detect changes and maintain the owner's calendar events. Calendar data is sent to Google through the Google Calendar API to perform those operations. If ntfy notifications are enabled, change summaries are sent to the configured ntfy service. The tool does not sell Google user data or use it for advertising.

Storage and retention

Timetable state, history, the change log, and the OAuth token are stored in files in the owner's server data directory. They are retained until the owner removes them. The owner can stop Google access by revoking the tool's access in their Google Account and can remove the locally stored token and timetable files from the server.

Security

The owner is responsible for restricting access to the server and its data directory. Anyone with access to the OAuth token may be able to access the owner's calendar within the permissions granted to this tool.
